KARAMI TWEED PANTS

Tapered pants crafted from a leno-woven fabric using chenille feather yarn.
To preserve the natural charm of the fabric, no lining is added and the hem is left raw.

The look was photographed at a 120-year-old traditional Japanese house. On that day, the sight of raindrops soaking the greenery seemed to resonate with the texture of the fabric, quietly adorning the wearer’s everyday life.

Jellyfish

A pullover dress crafted from leftover tulle fabric.

Beginning with no design and no pattern, the piece was formed by simply draping the fabric over the body—crumpling, loosening, and reshaping it by hand. One might say it was created through a dialogue with the material itself.

There are no machine stitches, no separate parts, not even traditional draping techniques—just a single piece of fabric, wholly transformed.

This dress stands as one of the most symbolic works representing THETHE’s philosophy of “formless creation.”

The inspiration comes from the jellyfish. It is said that the water content of a jellyfish, like that of a human fetus, is around 90%. As our ancestors once emerged from the sea, so too does our origin remain tied to it.

Fake Pleats Dress

A single dress deconstructed into more than twenty separate pieces and then reassembled.

By turning each seam into pintucks, the surface appears pleated from afar, yet reveals itself not to be upon closer touch—an intentional “fake pleats” detail.

This design focuses on an approach born from the act of sewing itself, emphasizing construction as both technique and expression.

Longpile Coat

A long-pile fabric, typically used with the nap running upward, is inverted here to create a drooping, cascading effect.

This look is also formed entirely from a single piece of fabric, constructed into a wrap-like garment that resembles a sequence of interlocking triangular shapes.

Rather than presenting itself as clothing in the conventional sense, it positions the fabric itself as the true protagonist—making this one of THETHE’s more avant-garde pieces.
